Do you know your teammates? Like... really know them?
Exploring the role of People & Place in leader development.
When we talk about People & Place regarding leader development, we’re not talking about the definition of a noun.
In leader development, we think of People & Place as how leaders not only get to know each team member as individuals with unique backgrounds, values, strengths, and developmental needs but also how they create a context within the team where members have strong connections with each other.
They challenge each other. They support each other. They respect each other.
People and Place means that all team members can bring their unique and true selves to the work. It means their uniqueness is valued and appreciated as an important part of the team.
There is no better thought leader on the subject than friend and co-author of the lab, Dr. Stefanie K. Johnson. She shares how leaders can create People & Place through her book Inclusify. We highly recommend it for your next professional book club selection!
But, until you can get your hands on a copy, we’ve chosen a couple of her awesome videos that illustrate how to bring the People & Place dimension of the LeAD Labs 6P Framework to life in an organization.
